The correct answer is D) east to the coast of Carolina.

Settlers moved soon after settling in the Albemarle region to the east to the coast of Carolina.

After the strange story of the Roanoke Colony in what today is North Carolina, the first English colonist arrived in Jamestown, Virginia, in 1607. From there, people started to move to the Albemarle in North Carolina. Colonists wanted to find better trade deals with the Native American Indian tribes of the region and find better land conditions to grow cash crops. From there, people started to move to the middle coastal plain of Carolina. This is a large portion of land that extends from Onslow county to the Abemarlñe sound.
