Social-psychological research has revealed that exposure to televised violence might weaken viewers' inhibitions about using violence in their own lives. If Peter is one such person, what is he likely to think when he watches a violent cops-and-robbers show?

    Research has found that continous exposure to media violence will usually end in more agressive behavior, reducing responsiveness or restraining from actual violence on real circumstances as Peter could experience.

    If he watches violence, he may become emotionally desensitized.

    According to social - psychological recent research such effect is short - term specially if he is young aged or a child, the impact on erly ages tends to be higher.

    Of course this would mean to him senseless, because he will often argue is watched on the purpose of entertainment, however his behavior will be less sensitive to violence in the long run.
