The Two Treatises of Government is a work of political philosophy, written by John Locke, which states that an individual's rights in government can be grounded in private property. His political philosophy does not suggest the elimination of laissez-faire capitalism. In a laissez-faire capitalist state, the individual's rights are protected inasmuch as the government protects private property. The elimination of laissez-faire capitalism would result from protecting the public's rights to acquiring property, something which Locke is explicitly against.
