How do the lines on a map lead to Civil Wars and Genocides? Explain.

Many countries may not agree on (the lines on a map) or the border due to reglious, or ancestery showing claim to to the land and some countries may just need whatever is on a side of that line on the map to survive or some countries just dont want a certain people.
