Compare and contrast situational influences and dispositional influences and give an example of each. Explain how situational influences and dispositional influences might explain inappropriate behavior.

    Social psychologists focus on how our behavior interpret the situation and how this situation influences our thought, behavior, and feelings.

    Situational influences:

    It is phenomena in which our behavior and action determined by our immediate environmental factors and our surroundings. Social psychologists have tended upon situational perspective.

    For example:

    A student blames his/her failure on the exam pattern. blaming that paper was out of the syllabus.

    Dispositional influences:

    Our behavior is determined by our internal factors such as personality traits and temperaments of a person. personality psychologist has tended to the dis-positional perspective.

    For example:

    A driver in a rage incident claims another driver who cut off was aggressive.
