Dark ages because it brought turmoil to the west

    Explanation:

Rome's fall ended the ancient world and brought about the Middle ages.

These "Dark Ages" brought the end to much to Roman.

    The West fell into turmoil.

However, while much was lost, western civilization still owes a debt to the Romans.

After the fall of the Western Roman empire, Rome was in ruins, having been sacked by first the Visigoths and then the Vandals within the space of 45 years.

The idea of the "Dark Ages" came from later scholars who were heavily biased toward ancient Rome. In the years following 476 A. D., various Germanic peoples conquered the former Roman Empire in the West (including Europe and North Africa).
