What conflicts led to nativist sentiment in the 1920s?

    Nativism introduced a tradition of fear and hatred to the American people in regards to immigrants. Nativism in the 1920s left a lasting impression on certain groups of American citizens and brought about a feeling superiority to certain long-term or "native" American citizens.
