Voter Identification Laws require citizens to have some sort of identification (often government issued; driver's license) to present when voting. These laws are seen by some as restrictive to the voting process, especially against minorities, the elderly, and disabled. These groups of people can often have no income and/or no transportation access. This can also be restrictive because these low income, minorities, elderly, and disabled groups need money that they may not have, in order to obtain supporting documents, such as birth certificates, in order to gain a government issued identification card.
