Which is NOT a plausible criticism of the use of self-reports to determine the relationship between childhood maltreatment and the development of depression? There is a potential for poor reliability. They are vulnerable to subjective interpretation. The results are not easily compared with those from other measures. They are labor intensive and expensive to implement.

    Depression and childhood trauma are related in significant ways. Childhood trauma has been one of the main reason for falling in the depression. Studies have resulted that sexual abuses in childhood lead to becoming a reason for depression in adulthood. Emotional abuses during childhood create anxiety disorders in the mind of the children which hampers their thoughts. They start to feel neglected and alone which later turns him / her fall into depression.
