To deindividualize is to become part of the mass, which under the cover of anonymity makes its individual responsibility diffused among the rest of the crowd. That is, the behavior called "deindividuation" is the behavior that an individual presents when he seems to lose consciousness in the presence of a group and adopt behaviors of that group, which the individual never thought to adopt. Similar to what is happening with Janay.
