    The answer is B. Based on my recent study, I discovered that gas particles do in fact spread out to fill a container. If you recently studied the gaseous matter, I'd understand why you might think that answer C is the correct answer. However, answer B would be the correct answer because it's somthing that only particles in the gaseous state could do.
