Greek philosophers believed in living in harmony with the natural world. They aimed to become masters of this world and the cosmos. They understood that every living has its role and prioritized the subsistence of this environment by respecting other species and only taking the necessary resources for living. Greek Mythology was used as a way to explain natural phenomena. They believed that such events were produced by the actions of the gods. For example, they believed that earthquakes occurred when the god of Water, Poseidon, crashed his trident to the ground. They also believed that the trail that the sun followed during the day was the god Helios traveling with his chariot across the sky.
