When Europe nations established colonies in Africa in the late 1800s they?

African states were colonized by Europeans between 1870 and 1900. Africans faced aggressive European imperialism and military invasions which eventually resulted in conquest of most of the sates except Liberia and Ethiopia who was never colonized. Seven European powers such as Britain, France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Portugal and Italy have established their own colonial systems.
