Answer: D: France had lost most of its power and territory in North America.

The Treaty of Paris was the document that ended the Seven Years' War, or as it was called in North America, the French and Indian War. The terms of the treaty were harsh to France. All French territory on mainland North America was lost, and with it, most of the power France had in North America. Quebec and the Ohio Valley were given to the British, while New Orleans and the Louisiana territory west of the Mississippi were ceded to Spain.
