    Explanation:

    mass of water = 50 grams

    change in temperature of water = 50⁰c

    specific heat of fusion of water = 334 J/g

    calculate the amount of heat needed/required

    = mass of water * specific heat of fusion of water

    = 50 grams * 334 J / g

    = 16700 J

    note : we use the specific heat of fusion of water because the temperature change given and the change is below 100⁰c hence the water is still in liquid form
