By the time this party was created, many of the farmers and laborers were very deep in debt. They joined this party in order to fight for their economic interest.

This party advocated for the federal government to put more money in the economy. When the government increase the supply of the money, inflation tend to occurs. This will rise the average price of goods that being sold in the market. If this happen, it would be easier for farmers and laborers to pay off their debt since they would obtain more money from every goods that they sell but their debt did not increased.
