    The central executive

    Explanation:

Baddeley's theory of working memory was proposed in an attempt to further understand short term memory also known as primary memory by Alan Baddeley and Graham Hitch in 1974. The model argues that short term memory is not a unitary process but a working aggregate of multiple components. These components comprises of different systems for storing different types of information. These systems are : Central Executive, Visuospatial Sketchpad (inner eye) and Phonological Loop. The central Executive does the cognitive coordination, planning and directs the other two systems.
