A mass movement is ideology spread among a lot of people who organize to actions like boycotts and protests where participants at least start out unarmed in an effort to force their ideology on everyone else. An armed revolution is the same thing with arms, basically waging a war to force their ideology on everyone else. Not a pleasant situation, a revolution generally involves poorly led and undisciplined troops fighting well lead and disciplined troops but sometimes the opposite is true. Either way, not a happy time.
