    I believe the answer is: Cause: Alfonso sees his crooked teeth in the mirror. Effect: He becomes depressed.

    The fact that he become depressed after seeing his disfigured teeth indicates that he is very self-concious about his physical appearance and worries how it might makes other people perceive him, Otherwise he would just ignore it like nothing happen.
