    The US only got involved because they had their Allies being attacked by neighboring countries. Also, iraqi president Saddam Hussein ordered the invasion and occupation of neighboring Kuwait in early August 1990 ... Hussein defied United Nations Security Council demands to withdraw from Kuwait by mid-January 1991, and the Persian Gulf War began with a massive U. S.-led air offensive known as Operation Desert Storm. The president didn't allow the US or the UN to use its oil supply and also supported terrorism.

    The Us only participated in the war because a lot of the oil they imported was from Kuwait and other Countries so they didn't want there oil gone so they stopped Iraq
