How did the mayans become distinct

The mayan culture is rich in their findings and study of mathematics, astronomy and the physical world. They became an advanced culture because they respected other cultures and people.

The Mayans became extremely distinct because they just disappeared one day becoming extinct.

It is unknown how the Mayans became extinct, they just disappeared. Of course there is an explanation we just don't know it yet. It is extremely similar to the disappearance of the Plymouth colony.
