    Gilligans studies show that women have different notions of morality. How boys see the just as moral, meanwhile girls tend to be more caring and empathetic. This led to some changes in the theory of moral development. In Gilligans hypothesis, women base their moral development more in a sense-of-self than men, they use cognitive ability to model their morality.
