The answer is: Have demonstrated knowledge in the past

By demonstrating the knowledge, the adults would obtain a certain level of credibility in the mind of the children.

After obtaining the acknowledgement children would conduct most of their learning through direct observation of every actions that made by the mentioned adult until eventually they grow old enough to create their own unique perspective.
