How will the growth in urban populations affect the world over the next ten years?

    The growth of the urban population will make it necessary to increase the number of residences and consequently increase the size of cities. This will cause stress on the global environment, leading to increased global warming, deforestation, increasing scarcity of water and natural resources, and declining farmland

    All these factors will increasingly hamper the possibilities of tackling poverty and inequality, increasing the level of unemployment and consequently increasing crime and violence.
