Without exhausting the earth's natural resources, how has the world supported a population increase from 10,000 to more than 6 billion in the past 100,000 years?

    Answer: If by "globally ... the demand for natural resources is greater than supply", you mean in absolute terms that people want more, (just saying) iron ore than all countries are currently supplying, then initially, the current price of that particular natural resource will increase.
