During the Gulf War, The United States spent approximately more than $60 billion. Most of this money went to military operations and in the reconstruction of the parts of Kuwait that were destroyed during the war. Although the United States paid this amount of money, it was recovered through the profits and contributions of its allies during the first year and a half since the end of the war. According to some estimates, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states covered $36 billion. Moreover, other allies like Japan and Germany covered $16 billion. However, some experts have said that the inverted budget was never fully recovered.
