    America believed the war was a Europe problem that they didn't want to involve themselves in. After Japan attack the U. S got involved as they had a strong sense of nationalism. A day after Pearl Harbor was attacked Congress declared war on Japan. That declaration of war got the U. S involved in the "European" war.
