    Mahatma Gandhi was the leader of the movement that gained Independence for India. He also was a spiritual leader that promoted the concept of resisting to tyranny with non violent civil disobedience. He used peaceful protests and manifestations to start the movement that would end with India becoming an independent country on August 15th of 1947.
