This group of people is native to what is now the Southeastern United States. The eastern portion of the group still resides in North Carolina, while many were forcibly relocated west in the 1830s on what became known as the Trail of Tears.

    Many of the tribes of the Iroquois Nation were forced out of their homes and property and land when the revolutionary war ended.

    The mohawk were from upstate New York and although they were A part of that nation they were not part of the trail of tears. It was the Cherokees that suffered the most
