Silas's parents probably warned him of the major risk of smoking, addiction, and disease, the worst being cancer.

The cigarette contains more than 4,700 toxic substances and is a public health problem. Several studies report the direct relationship between smoking and cancer, especially lung cancer.

Anyway, there are several other reasons for a person not to start smoking, among which we can mention, respiratory problems, blood circulation problems, yellowing of teeth, skin problems, physical indisposition, diabetes, heart problems, pulmonary emphysema ... not to mention the unpleasant smell that this leaves in the hands!

Being warned of any problems that the cigarette causes and knowing that the cigar is addictive, any possible damage that Silas has thought is serious and serves as a warning so that he does not accept the cigarette of the most popular student of the school. This student is going down a dangerous path in the future and Silas should not take any chances.
