The Grange also known as the Patrons of Husbandry was one of the first farmer's association in the country dedicated to the rights of the farmers to exist in their place and to uphold their freedoms and rights. The rail road development in the state were one of the their prime concerns. They had come to understand the railroads were disrupting the life of farmers so they made processions against the work and disrupted supply chains for construction. They protested in front of the constructed lines and even broke some lines by themselves.
