Chromatography how would rf value change if developing chamber was uncovered

    The rf values increase due to compression of the volatile liquid.

    Uncovering the chamber would result in the liquid to evaporate.

    Also it would cause the high pressure on the chamber to decrease, thus decreasing compression.

    So, the rf values would decrease as there is no compression to pull it up along the chromatography paper.
