Andrew Carnegie had faith in the theory of Social Darwinism. According to this theory, the healthiest and powerful could only survive. These poor people are less fit or powerful will not experience significant progress.

Carnegie thought it was tolerable to obtain a lot of money. That is what can occur to those that are powerful and appropriate. However, Carnegie considered those who were prosperous had a responsibility to use that money for good purposes.
