What is the importance of silt in Egypt?

    Silt was very important to Ancient Egypt daily life. After the annual flooding of the Nile River, there would be a production of silt, a dark fertile soil, essential to agriculture - especially crop growing. This area was essentially the only area that was useful for farming.
