Should the press be censored from reporting on news that may alarm the public? Explain your answer.

    If we are strictly speaking about the US, then no (in my opinion, the following reasoning applies all over the world). This is because we are a democracy and in a democracy, the people are expected to vote for the best decision. The people cannot vote for what they believe is correct if they do not know all the facts, regardless of what they are. So, no the press should not be censored from reporting news that may alarm the public as American citizens need that information to make the most educated decision possible.
