    Explanation:

    Historically men enjoy more independence and power in society as most of the cultures impose a traditional view were the men is dominant.

    As men was able to engage in hunting, so beliefs continued to portray man as the provider for the home. Women were sent to a more passive scheme, often taking care of the labors at home.

    Then men and women were capable to better surive, by combining and assigning different roles.

    This continued for many periods in history where men were more engaged in the economy, in the politics, and at academies. However with arise of social changes, notably feminism from postwar, women organized in demanding social rights and further inclusion.

    Today women are having wider participation and in some instances they have become predominant (university population higher amounts of female students).
