    Question 1.

Payments to the Pope and the right for clergy to decide its own taxation were abolished. Orders that provided no education or charitable work were abolished. Civil rights were granted to other religions (Protestants and Jews). The church was reorganized as local government (each department would have one bishop - 83 instead of 135). Clergy were to be elected by active citizens. Clergy were to reside in their diocese and new salary scales were introduced.

    Question 2.

This caused a rift between peasant class and the bourgeoisie because there were still two sides. The people opposing the monarchy and the people that still supported it.
