One positive effect was that there was new plants and animals being discovered.

One negative effect was that diseases were brought to the Americas that killed the Native Americans.

Positive effect: They brought over animals and plants from the New World that were unknown to Europe and vice versa.

Negative effect: Diseases brought in from Europe killed the Native American because they did not have immunizations toward it.
