During the Renaissance, new religions were starting to be formed. People started to think for themselves. During the Medieval times, people weren't educated unless they were very wealthy. Also, teachers were normally monks and everything they knew and believed in was based off the Bible and the Catholic religion. In the Renaissance, people also started to interpret the Bible differently. More people were educated and their ideas were their own. The printing press was formed with also encouraged the spread of different ideas. The Catholic church lost lots of its power. The Renaissance paved the way for the Enlightenment.
