How did people in China respond to the influence of foreign nations in their country? They enjoyed the economic and cultural benefits that foreign influence brought. They resented foreign influence and formed rebel groups to fight Europeans. They were unaware of foreign influence because Europeans stayed near the coast. They were angered by the foreign influence and formed a secret society called the Boxers.
