In which way did Great Britain's leaders try to recover from the Great Depression?

    They allotted an emergency budget to bring back trust in the British Pound. Cuts in spending were also implemented. At first they tried to put pressure on the pound but eventually had to abandon the Gold Standard to relieve pressure on exporters which laid the foundation of recovery.
