The possible answer can be family and the people that are important to you. Despite the innovation in the Telecommunication industry, many people would still prefer to physically see and feel their family members and their other loved ones. Many would often feel better if they can hold them and see them physically. It can also be culture. This is because cultures vary and immigrants are more accustomed to their own culture despite the idea that they had to adapt in their new environment.

Of course it depends on the person. People usually miss their families and their friends. They are also accustomed to the life in their home countries and the quality of life (good or bad). Many immigrants when they first arrive to a new country they usually know little to no people and that can become quite lonely.
