1 example is they got used to use their surroundings to survive, as in having a shelter & stuff in that matter.

One example is that they learned how to use sicks and rocks to make weapons to kill animals.

Anther one would be how they learned to skin animals to make clothing.

And a last one would be how they rubbed rocks together to make a spark and they made fire with that.
