Why did Secretary of War John C. Calhoun order U. S troops into Florida

    He did it because he wanted to fight the Seminole Natives who were attacking the Georgian settlers. He did it even though Florida technically belonged to Spain at that time. The general that led the attack was Andrew Jackson.
