The most famous section of the Great Mosque of Samarra is its minaret. It is also known as the Malwiya Tower which is 52 metres high and 32 metres in width and is a spiralling cone with a spiral ramp. This mosque islocated in Samarra of Iraq. It is considered the largest Mosque in the world. This Mosque is a ninth century mosque that was started in the year 848 and ended in the year 851. The Mosque was destroyed in the year 1278 during the Halagu Khan invasion of Iraq. The Great Mosque had 17 isles in it and the walls of the Mosque were covered in dark blue glass.
