    Osiris was the God of the dead and also the king that ruled the underworld. He was of immense importance to the religion of ancient Egypt. In ancient Egypt Osiris was considerd the God of fertility and resurrection. The ancient Egyptians also were of the opinion that the crop barley was a gift from Osiris and so a very important food for the people of egypt. Abydos was a large temple built by the people of Egypt showing their respect for Osiris. In fact Osiris was also considered the God of agriculture and so was of immense importance.
