How come people hated segregation in america and abolished it but still many black and other comunites still choose to live separated from each other

    I see many reasons for it:

    -first, people of the same family often have the same or similar skin colour and they naturally tend to belong to the same community

    -people with the same skin colour might share the same experiences in terms of discrimination, and forming a community is a way of forming a "safe place" and getting a social support.
