A professor at big state university proposes to study attitudes about obesity in chile by giving subjects in chile surveys to complete. which is a question that the big state university irb should ask the researcher in order to determine if this study should be reviewed by a local chilean irb or ethics committee as well as the big state university irb

    Basically, the question is trying to find out whether the local Chilean committee has to be contacted, on top of the university. So we can ask: what are the things that the local Chilean committee could object to?

    One such thing would be the privacy issue: does the questionnaire protect the identity of the participants? The local committee would have a special interest in protecting the privacy of their locals.
