How might citizen engage in civic life to influence politics and government?

There are many ways, here are just some ideas:

1) join a political party

2) vote and convince others to vote

3) engage in local discussions about politics (with friends, schoolmates ...)

4) be involved in local structures: school government, city council

5) inform politicians about the needs of a community
