    No, I think that this is a false statement.

    Let's imagine you open an online shop. By a pure luck you sell a number of items on the first day, which makes you think that you are good at what you're doing. This makes you work harder and enjoy your shop more and you become even more successful.

    This is an example of a success being both a cause and an effect!
